The beautiful mountains and valleys around Klosters are best explored on foot via the many marked hiking trails. Out of winter nature provides much to see from the colourful meadow and mountain flowers to the varied wildlife.
Routes are graded for difficulty and give approximate timings for the walks. This means you can choose a walk to suit your ability. The mountain railways and cable cars that run in the summer also enable you to walk in the higher mountains without having to climb all the way up and down them. With your Klosters Guest Card, these are free to use as are the local buses and trains between Klosters & Davos.
Just above Klosters take the relatively easy route beyond the Walser village of Monbiel to Alp Novai and ejoy stunning views of the Silvretta Glacier and surrounding mountains. Have a picninc lunch by the river or barbecue at one of the special camp fire sites provided by the local community.
The fabulous but more strenuous Madrisa-Rundtour takes you over the mountains from Klosters Dorf to the hamlet of Gargellen in Austria. This can be managed in 2 or 3 days and requires overnight accommodation en route and your passport.
You can play tennis at the Klosters Sports Centre located by the side of the Landquart river. There are 7 hard sand courts available for summer visitors.
Alternativley, rafting is available in the nearby Engadine valley, a short trip through the rail tunnel or drive over the Flüelapass for a 3 hour thrill down the "King of the Alpine Rivers". Alternatively, raft for 3 hours down the Swiss Grand Canyon - the Rhein from Ilanz to Reichenau.
Or, try parapenting and fly from the mountain peaks to the valley floor using the near perfect thermals this area has to offer. Either a once in a lifetime experience as a taxi ride, or take lessons for your licence to fly.
Finally, there is a stunning 9 hole golf course situated in the magnificent Klosters landscape. There are also 6 other courses within easy reach and set in beautiful alpine scenery - a unique golfing experience.
The Prättigau Valley and Davos region have an excellent range of marked mountain bike trails totalling an astounding 960km.
The Swiss Bike Masters Race Route is over 120km long. With at least 10 peaks to 'puff' up we suggest this one only for the professional cyclist!
There are many varied shorter mountain bike trails in the Klosters-Serneus area to suit the experienced and adventurous as well as those who just want to get out, enjoy a different experience and take in the fantastic local scenery.
We own a fleet of professional K2 mountain bikes - all with suspension. These are available to rent for CHF25 per bike per day including bike helmet, enabling you to bike directly from the chalet.
