Welcome to my blog

This will be updated periodically during the summer and winter months and will give you a flavour of what we get up to in the mountains and valleys of the Davos Klosters region of Switzerland.

Does this herald the start of winter proper? Heavy snow forecast this weekend!

Climbing to the Fergenhütte at 2,150m on 29. September 2015 - no snow yet but glorious colours!

We like to keep our guests up to date with news, so here are a few things that might be of interest:

New website

Please visit our newly designed website – – that hopefully will inspire and encourage you to return.

Free ski passes

In conjunction with Davos Klosters Mountains, we are offering free passes from 5 to 20 December 2015 as ski days for the number of nights stayed. At this time of year, we are completely flexible and charge on a per night basis.

February half term 2016

Is unusually still available!

Discounts (full weeks)

If you have been before, then please ask for details of our returners’ discount. Alternatively, if you are happy to commit and pay a deposit before the end of October, then we will also offer a discount.

Non-peak weeks

During early-mid January, March and early April, excluding Easter, we are flexible on the number of nights and when you start your holiday.

As Julia’s food becomes ever more tantalisingly tasty and Simon’s wines ever more selective, we look forward to welcoming our guests to Chesa Flurina and the Davos Klosters region, in this our 12th winter season.

Last week we achieved a long desired goal, we climbed the highest peak in the Klosters region. At 3146m the summit of the Schwarzhorn allows views of many many mountain peaks and glaciers across Switzerland and into Austria and Italy. We ate our picnic lunch and duly signed the book found in the tin box at the top. We were lucky to have a glorious day with not a cloud in the sky to achieve this ambition.

On Thursday we hiked from St Antönien to Partnun See. We celebrated Simon's birthday by the lake with a glass of prosecco and a Devils Food cake. Yummy!
